What types of leases are available?
Most of our leases are 11.5 month (payable in 12 equal installments so your monthly rent is less!), but we also offer a limited number of 5 month leases each year. Sign up early to reserve one of these!
What types of apartments/rooms are available?
We offer something for everyone! Studios, 1 bedroom/1 bath, 2 bedroom/2 bath, 3 bedroom/3 bath, 4 bedroom/2 bath and 4 bedroom/4 bath.
How close to campus are you?
We are located 2.7 miles just northwest of campus. We offer easy access to the University, but also easy access to all kinds of shopping and night-life!
What is the cost?
All of our prices are quoted "per room" because we only offer individual leases. Please call the office for current price quotes.
Can I use my financial aid?
Please email Kim Williams, our Resident Services and Accounting Manager, for an information page about how to pay your rent with financial aid. Her email address is rsmwestlafayette@edrtrust.com
When can I move in?
The majority of our residents all have leases that begin on a set day in August. If we still have openings after that point, you can move in at any time once we have received your sign up fees and financial paperwork!
What if I need to cancel my lease?
We do not have a "lease cancellation" clause to our contract, however, you can find someone to take your lease over with an option called "Lease Reassignment" -- and we can help! Please email us at westlafayette@edrtrust.com to request more information.
Can I request an apartment or roommates?
As long as we still have openings, you can request specific apartment locations and specific roommates. We do fill up early, so don't wait -- call now!
Is parking available?
We offer ample parking for all residents, and lot parking is free as well as first-come-first-serve. For those of you that like a little more protection or the assurance of a reserved spot, you can also rent a carport for $20.00 per month.
What utilities are included in my rent?
We take care of everything EXCEPT your electric (required) and land-line telephone (optional). Here is a list of what we provide: * Water * Waste Water * Refuse Removal * Internet in each Bedroom (WiFi and ethernet) * Extended Basic Cable + HBO in all rooms
When do I put down a deposit?
We are currently running a sign up special which requires you to pay your application and administrative fees only -- no security deposit is currently required! You are required to pay the remainder ($89.00) at the time you sign your lease or reserve your apartment.
Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?
Great News! College Station at West Lafayette added a new feature that lets you pay online! View your balance, submit electronic checks, or pay with a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover from any computer. Just log on to our website, click the "Pay Rent" button. This will take you to our resident rent pay portal. There is a small convenience charge for this service.
Do I have to have a meal plan?
As our facility is an off-campus apartment community, we do not offer meal plans, but you do have a full kitchen with all major appliances provided. And if you don't cook...there are all kinds of fast food and restaurants right down the street!
How many people live there?
Every year the total number varies just slightly, but our community can accommodate up to 960 residents, friends and neighbors
How do our rates compare to on-campus housing rates?
When comparing our rates to on-campus rates you must take into consideration many variables, including floor plan layout, square footage, furniture, utilities, and community amenities. Our leasing staff is available to discuss with you how our rates compare to other housing options and validate that our community offers you the best value for your money, as well as a great location and incredible amenities.
Will you send me a bill each month for rent?
We do not mail out any type of invoice or billing--residents are responsible for paying rent in a timely manner without demand from our office, but we do typically post reminders throughout the community when it is time to pay rent.
If I am over 21, do I need to have a guarantor?
Each individual is different, regardless of age. The determining factor for a Guarantor or Co-Signer is your financial status. Residents can either supply us with a qualified Guarantor, or choose to pay a Security Deposit (completely refundable pending move out charges) equal to three (3) month's rent. Either way you choose to go, we must have your financial backing secured before you can pick up keys and move in.
What size are the beds?
Our beds are full-size, extra-long. We highly suggest you bring queen-size sheets, which will work well, instead of paying higher prices for "special" sized sheets!
Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?
You are welcome to bring additional furniture with you, but don't forget that we fully furnish all of our apartments. If you wish to replace some of our furniture and use yours instead, you may be required to rent a storage space here on the property to store our furnishings. Storages are available in different sizes, and in varied locations. The best part is the price -- they run $7, $9 or $12 per month!
What do I need to hook up my computer to the internet?
All you will need is a working ethernet card in your computer and ethernet cord or a WiFi equipped computer. These come with most computers now, but if you have an older unit, they can be purchased at any super store or computer store for minimal cost.
When does the College Station “Express Train” go to campus?
